About the book
This book was born out of challenge to “Invite others to heaven” --- issued as the last breaths of a dear loved one, Katelyn Luce Wilson. She was an example of how despite the hardships and trials we often face in life, we can find God’s love all around us. It’s all -encompassing, from A-Z. God’s vocabulary is vast when it comes to showing us how he loves us. He uses the details from all areas of life—nature, his Word, sports, the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the words we say—to show us his character and goodness. Therefore, this book contains 118 devotion readings, centered around individual words or phrases, organized from A-Z, covering a breadth of topics. It encourages and challenges readers to thoughtfully and wholeheartedly seek and then find God in evert corner of their lives. Then, after it’s all said and done to invite others to heaven.

Glimpse
I live by the water. The other morning, I glanced outside as I came out of our bedroom to behold the lake and sky reflecting with a soft purple hue. I commented to my husband, “Wow! Look how pretty the lake looks
this morning! The sky is purple. How unusual.” He said, “Yes! But you should see it from here.” I had been standing in the back of the room on my way toward the kitchen and had simply looked straight out the back door. He, on the other hand, was sitting in the corner chair and had a full view of where the sun had crested the foothills of the mountains. The sky was not only purple but appeared as if on fire with all shades of red, pink, and orange burning across the horizon. It was simply spectacular. Words cannot aptly describe the majesty. As it turns out, what I was originally so impressed with was just a small glimpse, a reflection only, of the true majesty of the sunrise. The astounding thing is that until it was shown to me, I had been content with that small view, not even realizing the splendor of what I was missing.
That experience makes me think of perspectives. Sometimes our perspective is such that we only see a small glimpse of the big picture, so we don’t realize that there is more to behold. Sometimes our perspective could be considering a hardship we are facing, and we can’t fathom how there could possibly be any good that could arise from our suffering. On the other hand, we could be satisfied with the status quo, with our glimpse into the good life, and not even consider the greatness that God may have in store for us. This is particularly true for unbelievers, who have not yet experienced the joy of salvation because, like me and the sunrise, it has yet to be shown to them. Paul speaks of these partial perspectives, proclaiming,“For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known” (1 Corinthians 13:12 NIV ). If only we could look at our lives from God’s vantage point, then we could see the true majesty of His works. While we may only have glimpses now, someday we will be able to see the entire horizon of history with full understanding.
My glimpse of the sunrise also makes me think of heaven. Here on Earth, we may have small glimpses of wonder that point to God’s glory. These could take the form of creation, but also joy, compassion, and love— the attributes defining the kingdom of God. However, nothing we have seen could compare to what is in store for us in heaven. In Ecclesiastes, we are told, “[God] has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end” (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NIV ). Everything good that can come in this life is but a small taste, a glimpse, of what is yet to come. God has prepared every one of us for His world as we were created to spend eternity with Him. Then, and only then, will we see the true and unblemished beauty of what God has done for us and comprehend His love.
My heart is set on someday experiencing the fullness of the love of Christ, in heaven. For now, I will appreciate the glimpses of glory for what they are, reminders of what is in store for those who love Him. My prayer is that you will accept His love and invite others to come enjoy the view.
